Fury Warrior DPS Guide - Classic WoW
DPS Stat Priority (PvE)
The following stat priority assumes you have achieved 300 weapon skill and are optimizing for raid DPS performance.
Priority Order:
- 9% Hit Rating - Essential for consistent DPS output
- Strength and Attack Power - Primary damage scaling stats
- Agility and Crit Chance - Secondary damage amplification
Key Point: Hit rating takes absolute priority until you reach the 9% cap for special abilities. Missing attacks is a complete DPS loss that cannot be compensated by other stats.
Stat Conversion Mechanics
| Stat | Conversion Rate | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Strength | 1 STR = 2 AP | Increases melee damage and blocking value |
| Agility | 20 AGI = 1% Crit | Increases crit chance, dodge, and armor |
| Stamina | 1 STA = 10 HP | Increases health pool for survivability |
| Hit Rating | Varies by level | Reduces miss chance against targets |
Weapon Skill Benefits
Weapon skill above 300 provides significant DPS improvements against raid bosses (level 63):
- Reduces miss chance - Each point decreases miss chance by 0.04%
- Decreases glancing blow penalty - Reduces damage loss from glancing blows
- Increases critical hit chance - Each point adds 0.04% crit against higher level targets
- Improves white damage consistency - More reliable auto-attack damage
Hit Rating Caps by Content
Required Hit Percentages:
- PvP (same level): 5% Hit Rating
- PvE Special Abilities (behind boss): 9% Hit Rating
- PvE Auto Attacks (behind boss): 26.4% Hit Rating
- Dual Wield Penalty: +24% additional miss chance
Note: The 26.4% auto-attack cap is generally not practical to reach, so focus on the 9% special ability cap.
Critical Strike Mechanics
- Damage Multiplier: Physical crits deal 200% damage (100% bonus)
- Attack Table Interaction: Crit chance is reduced by miss and dodge chances
- Positioning Impact: Standing behind targets eliminates dodge from the attack table
- Flurry Synergy: Critical hits trigger Flurry for increased attack speed
Crit Cap Consideration: Your effective crit cap varies based on your hit rating and positioning. Higher hit rating allows for more effective crit chance by reducing misses.
